First-ever national radio advertising for Aflac kicks off May 15
COLUMBUS, Ga., May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today, Aflac (NYSE: AFL)
premieres a new advertising campaign targeting small business owners. The
first phase of the campaign will target the small business owner via two
channels - radio and online. The new radio spots depict the high-stress
nature of the small business owner's life in a humorous way. These spots will
be supplemented with Aflac Small Business Tips, a 30-second segment that
provides companies with information and tips on how to grow their businesses.
The online component of the new campaign is the launch of Aflac's new
small business web site - Aflacsb.com. Each radio spot and tip will direct
the listener to Aflacsb.com. This new community for small business owners
contains useful information about how to improve their businesses in the areas
of marketing, human resources, managing growth and other relevant topics.
Various small business experts will contribute to this new small business
outlet.
"A recent Aflac survey showed that 42 percent of small business decision-
makers agree that the annual increases in health benefits have made them
decrease their offerings to employees," said Paul Amos, executive VP and COO
of Aflac. "Aflac offers businesses of all sizes a solution that lets them
provide additional coverage to their employees at no direct cost to the
employer as Aflac policies are individually owned and generally paid for by
the employee."
According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses represent
99.7 percent of all employer firms and in the past decade alone, small
businesses have generated 60 to 80% of new jobs annually.
For more than 50 years, Aflac products have given policyholders the
opportunity to direct cash where it is needed most when a life-interrupting
medical event causes financial challenges. Aflac is the number one provider of
guaranteed-renewable insurance in the United States and the number one
insurance company in terms of individual insurance policies in force in Japan.
Aflac's insurance products provide protection to more than 40 million people
worldwide. Aflac has been included in Fortune magazine's listing of America's
Most Admired Companies for six consecutive years and Forbes magazine's
Platinum 400 List of America's Best Big Companies for five consecutive years.
In January 2006, Aflac was included in Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best
Companies to Work For in America for the eighth consecutive year. Aflac was
also included in Fortune magazine's list of the Top 50 Employers for
Minorities in August 2005, and in September 2005, Aflac Japan was named the

sponsored by the Asia Insurance Review. Aflac Incorporated is a Fortune 500
