AFLAC moves up on Computerworld Magazine's List of the '100 Best Places to Work in IT'
COLUMBUS, Ga. - June 16, 2004 - AFLAC's IT division is ranked as the 21st best place to work in America, according to Computerworld's annual list of the "100 Best Places to Work In IT." This is the sixth consecutive year that AFLAC has made the list.
"We are extremely pleased with our ranking because we've moved up 17 places from last year's list," said Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Jim Lester. "AFLAC is committed to making our IT division the insurance industry leader in the field of information technology."
AFLAC's ranking was based on Computerworld's 100-question survey that gathers information about each company's training and development programs, average salary increases, percentage of staff promoted, turnover rates, and the percentage of women and minority employees in IT management positions. In addition, information was collected on each organization's hot projects, mentoring programs, and benefits, ranging from elder care and child care to flextime and stock options.
