AFLAC Named to Forbes Platinum 400 List of Best Big Companies

COLUMBUS, Ga., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AFLAC has been named to Forbes magazine's Platinum 400 List of Best Big Companies in America for the fifth consecutive year. The complete list is available online at www.forbes.com .

Forbes selected 1,000 publicly traded companies that had $1 billion or more in revenue and a stock price of at least $5 based on information in the Reuters Fundamentals database. Forbes ranked the constituent companies against their peers for five-year total return, long- and short-term sales and earnings growth, and other yardsticks such as long-term earnings forecasts from Thomson Financial First Call. The companies, which are listed in 26 categories ranging from aerospace and defense to utilities, are ranked in alphabetical order instead of numerical order.
