Bradley E. Dyslin

Executive Vice President and Global Chief Investment Officer; President of Aflac Global Investments

Brad Dyslin currently serves as executive vice president, global chief investment officer and president of Aflac Global Investments, the asset management subsidiary of Aflac Incorporated. In this role, he oversees all the company’s investment efforts including Aflac’s $105 billion investment portfolio and a team of more than 180 investment professionals in the United States and Japan.

Brad joined Aflac in 2012 as the managing director and global head of credit for Aflac Global Investments and was promoted to senior managing director in 2016. He assumed the additional responsibilities as head of strategic investment opportunities and co-head of external manager platform in 2017. In 2021 he was promoted to deputy global chief investment officer before being named to his current position in October 2022.

Brad has more than 30 years of investment experience in insurance asset management. In his previous roles at Aflac, Brad provided senior leadership across the spectrum of investment initiatives including asset allocation and setting investment strategy. He was responsible for implementing the portfolio management, research and investment recommendations for over $93 billion of credit-related assets that comprise the core of Aflac’s global portfolio, including those managed internally and with third-party managers. He also led Aflac Global Investments’ strategic investment and corporate development activities to enhance portfolio strategies and supplement Aflac Global Investments’ business model through joint ventures and equity ownership stakes. This includes Aflac’s current portfolio of strategic partnerships, where he serves on the boards of Tree Line Capital, Sound Point Commercial Real Estate Finance, LLC and Denham Capital Sustainable Infrastructure, while also leading research for potential new strategic investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Aflac, he served as senior vice president, head of research and portfolio manager for Hartford Investment Management. Prior to joining Hartford, he was director of U.S. Credit Research for Deutsche Asset Management in New York. His other experience includes more than a decade of progressively responsible investment positions with the Principal Financial Group.

Brad earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and economics from Morningside College and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from the University of Iowa. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Brad also sits on the Advisory Board of the Vaughan Institute of Risk Management and Insurance at the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa.

Barbara T. Friedman

Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Global Investments, Legal & Regulatory

Barbara Friedman joined Aflac in May 2013 as director and head of investments legal and regulatory. She is responsible for leading the legal, regulatory and compliance functions of Aflac Global Investments in the U.S. and Japan. Barbara was promoted to managing director in 2017. Barbara was promoted on July 1, 2023 to senior managing director.

Prior to joining Aflac, Barbara served as the head of legal teams supporting the fixed income, derivatives and private equity businesses for New York Life’s investment division, covering general and separate accounts and third party advisory clients. Prior to that, Barbara represented institutional investors on finance and investment matters with two New York law firms.

Barbara earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas. Barbara is member of the New York State Bar and a Fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel.

Hideto Yamamoto

Director, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Aflac Life Insurance Japan; President and Representative Director, Aflac Asset Management Japan

Hideto Yamamoto joined Aflac in 2015 as senior vice president, chief investment officer of Aflac Japan. He chairs the Japan Investment Committee and is responsible for leading and managing a team of investment professionals, while having oversight responsibility for ensuring execution of the globally approved investment strategy for Aflac Life Insurance Japan’s portfolio. He is also a member of the Aflac Incorporated Global Investment Committee and the Global Risk Committee. In 2018, he was named President and Representative Director of Aflac Asset Management Japan.

Hideto has more than 30 years of investment experience. Prior to joining Aflac, he served in roles of increasing responsibility at DIAM International, most recently serving as chief executive officer and chief investment officer in the company’s London office. Prior to joining DIAM, he spent 15 years serving in roles of progressive responsibility at the Industrial Bank of Japan, which included portfolio management and economic research.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Keio University in Tokyo.

Catherine Cole

Managing Director and Global Head of Private Debt, Strategic Partnerships, and Business Development

Catherine Cole joined Aflac in November 2023 as managing director and global head of Private Debt, Strategic Partnerships, and Business Development. She is responsible for the continued development and management of Aflac’s External Management Platform, including oversight of current private debt strategies in middle market lending, real estate lending and infrastructure debt. She is also responsible for supporting the company’s existing strategic partners and researching potential new strategic investment opportunities to enhance value creation. Catherine is a member of the Global Investments Executive Committee.

Catherine has more than 16 years of industry experience in asset management and financial markets. Prior to joining Aflac, she was a senior portfolio manager in the Financial Institutions Group at BlackRock, managing fixed income portfolios for insurance clients. Before joining BlackRock in 2012, Catherine was an associate at Goldman Sachs in Macro Cross Asset Sales and began her career as an analyst at UBS.

May Liu

Managing Director, Global Head of Credit

May Liu joined Aflac in September 2012 as vice president and senior credit analyst of Aflac Global Investments. In this role, she was responsible for supporting the credit portfolio (including investment grade, high yield, and private placements) that reflect the business needs and organizational goals for the two asset management subsidiaries located in the U.S. and Japan. In 2015, May was promoted to director, sr. credit analyst and again in 2018, promoted to director, head of private credit which expanded her investments oversight with a high concentration in private placements. In October 2021, she was promoted to the co-head of credit. In January 2023, May was promoted to her current position as managing director, global head of credit. This new role consolidates management of Aflac Global Investments’ overall credit portfolio and strategy.

May has more than 25 years of industry experience in a variety of credit roles. Prior to joining Aflac, she served as director, credit research at BNP Paribas Asset Management. May previously held progressively responsible credit research positions at Robeco, TIAA-CREF, and JP Morgan and Company.

May earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from SUNY Buffalo and an MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business.

James M. Rizzo

Managing Director; Chief Investment Officer of Aflac U.S.

Jamie Rizzo is managing director and chief investment officer of Aflac U.S. In this role, he oversees a combined $16 billion of multi-asset investments and is responsible for asset allocation strategies and our sustainability investment team.

Jamie joined Aflac in 2014 as vice president and senior credit analyst on the company’s internally managed fixed-income portfolio. He was promoted to head of credit portfolio management and co-head of credit in 2019, co-managing a team of 12 analysts and functioning as the portfolio manager for $35 billion of fixed income investments for Aflac Japan and Aflac U.S. Prior to joining Aflac, Jamie was managing director for Fitch Ratings, leading its Technology and Media & Entertainment sectors. Prior to joining Fitch, he held various corporate finance positions.

Jamie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware, an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and an MS in Accounting from Baruch College. He is a CFA® charterholder, CFA Institute.

Alan Tachikawa

Managing Director; Chief Financial Officer, Aflac Global Investments

Alan Tachikawa joined Aflac in August 2022 as managing director and chief financial officer of Aflac Global Investments. In his role, he is responsible for managing the financial aspects of Aflac Global Investments for the two asset management subsidiaries located in the U.S. and Japan.

Alan has more than 20 years of industry experience in a variety of finance roles. Prior to joining Aflac, he served as head of financial planning and analysis for MetLife’s U.S. Business. Prior to that, he served as MetLife Japan’s Head of FP&A (Tokyo), responsible for supporting the CEO & CFO and MetLife Asia’s Head of FP&A (Hong Kong) managing teams in 10 different countries, supporting MetLife Asia’s CEO & CFO. During his 13 years at MetLife, he also held positions in a variety of corporate finance roles where he was responsible for monthly projections, quarterly financial reporting, annual financial planning process, and centralized expense management. Alan previously held positions with Capital One Financial Corporation and started his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Cherry, Bekaert and Holland LLP.

Alan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Richmond.

Lingmiao Wang

Director, Deputy Chief Risk Officer, Aflac Global Investments

Lingmiao Wang is director and deputy chief risk officer of Aflac Global Investments. In this role, she oversees investment risk and operational risk globally for the US and Japan investment portfolios. She is also responsible for providing quantitative solutions to initiatives and strategies of Aflac Global Investments. Lingmiao joined Aflac in April 2020 as vice president and head of financial risk management. She was promoted to director and head of quantitative analytic solutions and architecture in July 2023, and to deputy chief risk officer in March 2025.

Lingmiao has more than 17 years of experience in risk management. Before joining Aflac Global Investments, she was a quant derivative strategist at Venerable, responsible for the performance of their dynamic hedge program for Variable Annuities. Prior to Venerable, she held various actuarial roles at Voya Financial, managing and reporting the risks of their complex annuity products.

Lingmiao is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She received a Master of Science degree in Actuarial Science from Temple University and a Master of Arts degree in Finance from the University of Freiburg in Germany. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in insurance from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in China.

Aflac Global Investments Senior Management

Aflac Global Investments includes Aflac Incorporated’s asset management subsidiaries responsible for investing approximately $111 billion (as of the end of 2022) on behalf of Aflac Incorporated’s insurance subsidiaries in Japan, the U.S. The Aflac Global Investments team contributes to Aflac’s long-term success by seeking to maximize long-term returns consistent with the preservation of capital based on an investment foundation of strategic asset allocation. This creates a conservative asset, liability, and capital management approach that focuses on creating a high-quality and diversified investment portfolio.
