Aflac Iron Girl National Event Series

Now more than ever, women play a variety of roles at home, in the community and in the workplace. As a result, it’s easy to get caught up in taking care of everyone else’s needs and neglecting what makes one her personal best—that’s why Aflac partnered with Iron Girl.

Aflac Iron Girl is an all-women’s experience that promotes health and wellness. This event series provides women of all ages with opportunities for camaraderie while also empowering them toward a healthy and active lifestyle physically and financially. With 10 event series throughout the country, Aflac Iron Girl has celebrated with mothers, daughters, beginners and novices ranging in age from 5 to 78.

Each woman who participates receives an Aflac Iron Girl Duck, sun safety kit, woman’s performance shirt, personalized race bib, custom finisher’s medal, post-race giveaways and a catered Breakfast Café. Statues, plaques or jewelry is also awarded to the top finishers in each age division.

One of the grandest elements Aflac is most proud of is Aflac Team Courage. At each Aflac Iron Girl event, this specially designed program honors and recognizes women who are fighting, or have fought, and won their battle with cancer. All members of Aflac Team Courage receive free entry into the event on behalf of Aflac, a blue-branded bib and a personally engraved compact mirror.

During pre-event training, participants can track their progress and receive helpful tips through the Aflac Journal to Well-Being. This comprehensive journal contains useful tips and information on topics such as disease prevention, family health, staying healthy and understanding health insurance coverage.

The 5k/10k/Duathlon/Triathlon Aflac Iron Girl events provide a platform to allow women to achieve their personal best. As Aflac continues to support efforts in fighting cancer through the Aflac Cancer Center, Aflac Iron Girl has also partnered with the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. Proceeds from the race and merchandise sales benefit each organization.
