Dear Aflac,

My husband applied for our Aflac accident insurance policy almost five years ago but we'd never filed a claim. I knew he had the policy but I didn't really know much about it. Recently, after a visit from his company's Aflac agent at work, my husband called me and said, "Do you know we could get benefits for our daughter's broken arm and for our son's broken teeth?!"

He came home with the forms, information on the policy and the agent's business card and I got to work. I was surprised at how easy the forms were to fill out and how easy it was to create an online account to generate the claim forms from the Aflac website.

Even after I started gathering the necessary documents, filling out forms, and faxing them all in I figured it would be a while (maybe months) before our claim would be processed. I was completely shocked when the agent mentioned during a conversation that we should have the benefit check the NEXT WEEK!

I was also pleased to be able to track the status of the claims on the website and to see the itemized statement of the paid claims arrive in my message box.

In all, we had eleven accidents/injuries we could file claims for since our policy coverage began. That may seem like a lot, but we have eight children so that's actually not so bad for five years.

The best part? My husband said if I did all the work (to file the claims) then I could have all the money!!!
