Aflac Ranks Among the Top 100 Companies Offering the Best in Training
Training Magazine Names Aflac to Its Top 100 Annual Listing for the Sixth Consecutive Year

COLUMBUS, Ga. – March 6, 2006 – Aflac was recognized as a leader in professional development by Training magazine in its annual Training Top 100 listing during an awards ceremony in Orlando, Fla. on March 5 at the Caribe Royal Resort. The complete list of corporations making the roster will be available in a special section of the March issue.

For the sixth consecutive year, the publication applauded the leading insurer for personal and professional development opportunities offered to its employees. Aflac's corporate training and development opportunities range from basic computer courses and managerial training to high-level industry education programs yielding professional certifications for its participants.

“It is an honor to be recognized by an industry that values quality professional training,” said Gladys Tillmon, Aflac's second vice president, Learning and Development. “Aflac supports a lifetime of learning and achievement for our employees. The development programs we offer provide enhanced business and personal skills that assist them in all aspects of their lives.”

In addition to leadership development training, Aflac provides personal development sessions called Lunch and Learn. Course topics include tips on budgeting and saving as well as classes for first-time home buyers. The company also offers a variety of tuition-assistance programs for employees and scholarships for children and grandchildren of employees.

In compiling the list, corporations were asked to complete a two-part survey that highlighted areas such as professional skills, leadership development, employee orientation and diversity.

Earlier this year, Aflac was named Georgia's Company of the Year by Business to Business magazine and ranked 47th in FORTUNE magazine's 100 Best Companies To Work For in America listing.
