Aflac Named as a Top 50 Company for Supplier Diversity
Hispanic Trends Magazine recognizes Aflac as a corporate leader in doing business with minority-owned companies.
COLUMBUS, Ga. – Feb. 06, 2006 – Aflac has been named as a leading organization for supplier diversity by Hispanic Trends Magazine and will be featured in the publication's inaugural top 50 listing of the best companies within this category. The February issue will highlight the complete list of companies receiving this honor.
“Supplier diversity is a key element to the way we do business,” stated Eric Seldon, Aflac's second vice president, Aflac Support Services. “We strive to promote an inclusive environment that extends not only to our internal employees, but also to our external customers through programs that encourage supplier diversity.”
Hispanic Publishing, publisher of Hispanic Magazine and Hispanic Trends magazine, gathered information from an annual survey focusing on supplier diversity. An editorial committee reviewed the data to compile the list of company honorees offering the most procurement opportunities to minority-owned businesses.
Earlier this year, Aflac was named Georgia's Company of the Year by Business to Business magazine and was ranked among the top 50 organizations in Fortune magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For listing. Aflac also received an honorable mention by DiversityBusiness.com in its annual listing of Top Corporate Buyers of Diversity Products and Services in the United States.
