The Aflac Duck Pitches In at Home
Commercial demonstrates how Aflac helps keep you financially healthy in time
of need
COLUMBUS, Ga., Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac's newest ad, titled "Pitchin
In," features the insurer's famous duck taking care of an injured policyholder
and his family. Scheduled to debut nationwide on January 1, the new
commercial blends humor with an important message about maintaining quality of
life and keeping your finances secure when a life-interrupting medical event
causes financial challenges.
In this commercial, the Aflac Duck pitches in to help a woman care for her
family as her husband recovers from two broken arms. Similar to the
successful "Helping Out" and "Broken Leg" commercials that debuted in 2005,
the new ad shows how Aflac insurance policies can help customers focus on
getting better and worry less about their finances. The Aflac Duck is seen
taking care of several errands, such as feeding the couple's baby, visiting
the deli counter at the grocery store, and even washing the car window at a
gas station, where the duck is shocked by the price of gas.
"When someone gets sick or injured, their primary focus needs to be on
getting better. Yet so many families, even those with major medical insurance,
become overburdened with out-of-pocket expenses not covered by their primary
insurance. With Aflac, policyholders can direct cash where they need it most
to cover loss of earning power, expenses, deductibles and any of life's
necessities," said Dan Amos, chairman and CEO of Aflac.
The Aflac Duck has become one of America's favorite icons since debuting
in the first ad on December 31, 1999. "Pitchin In" is the company's 24th
commercial featuring the Aflac Duck created by the Kaplan Thaler Group.
Aflac is the number one provider of guaranteed-renewable insurance in the
United States and the number one insurance company in terms of individual
insurance policies in force in Japan. Aflac's insurance products provide
protection to more than 40 million people worldwide. In January 2005, Aflac
was included in Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For
in America for the seventh consecutive year. Aflac has also been included in
both Forbes magazine's Platinum 400 List of America's Best Big Companies and
in Fortune magazine's listing of America's Most Admired Companies for five
consecutive years. Aflac Incorporated is a Fortune 500 company listed on the
