Aflac Establishes Toll-Free Hotline in Response to Hurricane Katrina Disaster
COLUMBUS, Ga., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aflac (NYSE: AFL) has
created a special toll-free hotline established to provide priority customer
service to its policyholders, sales agents and clients affected by Hurricane
Katrina. The number is 1-800-849-2943 and will serve as a means for expediting
information to callers who need immediate assistance regarding items such as
claim processing.
In addition to answering claim inquiries, Aflac call center
representatives will assist callers with prompt updating of their mailing
addresses to ensure faster payment delivery to claimants and sales associates
who have been displaced by the natural disaster. Customer service
representatives devoted to answering the special hotline will be available
from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Last week, Aflac announced a 90-day grace period for premium payments due
from its policyholders in counties proclaimed disaster areas by the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) due to the hurricane.
