Columbus, Ga. - March 2, 2004 - AFLAC has been named to Fortune magazine's list of "America's Most Admired Companies" for the fourth consecutive year. AFLAC is ranked number four in the life and health insurance category. The complete list is in the March 8, 2004, issue.

Published annually by Fortune, the list serves as a definitive report card on corporate reputations. The companies were chosen from the ten largest U.S. companies (ranked by revenues) in 64 industries including large subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies. Each year the "Most Admired" rankings are determined by a survey of the country's top executives, directors and securities analysts who rank the top-performing companies within their own industries.

Fortune used eight criteria to gauge each company's reputation: quality of management, quality of products or services offered, innovativeness, long-term investment value, financial soundness, employee talent, social responsibility and wise use of corporate assets.
