Aflac Announces Retirement of W. Jeremy Jeffery, senior vice president, Fixed Income Investments

COLUMBUS, Ga., Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --Aflac Incorporated today announced the retirement of Senior Vice President, Fixed Income Investments, W. Jeremy Jeffery. Mr. Jeffery will continue to work on investment activities until his retirement date of June 30, 2012.

Mr. Jeffery joined Aflac in 2005 as senior vice president and deputy chief investment officer. From January 2007 through October 2011, he served as chief investment officer. Prior to joining Aflac, Mr. Jeffery had a 23-year career with Morgan Stanley, where he focused on diverse fixed income strategies affecting a wide range of industries.

Commenting on Mr. Jeffery's retirement, Aflac Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Daniel P. Amos said, "It has been a pleasure working with Jerry for the last six years. He was an important part of our investment management team, and he helped guide Aflac through the investment challenges of the recent financial crisis.
