Aflac CEO Dan Amos Named Second Largest Wealth Creator for 2010

COLUMBUS, GA – (December 30) – Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos has been named the second largest wealth creator for 2010 according to Chief Executive magazine’s third annual Wealth Creation Index. Dan Amos has been recognized on the Wealth Creation Index as one of the top 50 CEOs since the index’s inception in 2008.

Chief Executive magazine reported that the top 50 CEOs delivered an average total shareholder return of 73.3 percent since June 2007. Dan Amos joins the ranks of other top wealth creators that include Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Amazon.com CEO Jeffrey Bezos. Priceline.com CEO Jeffrey Boyd is the only CEO who has created more wealth in 2010 than Aflac’s Amos. The CEO Wealth Creation Index highlights those business leaders who have performed the best in creating true economic value based on GAAP metrics. The Wealth Creation Index mainly uses economic margin (EM), the amount of excess money the company has after its risk-adjusted cost of capital, in its ranking process.
