Aflac honored for outstanding achievements in workforce diversity
COLUMBUS, Ga., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- LATINA Style magazine has named
Aflac to its list of the 50 Best Companies for Hispanic women to work for in
the United States, citing Aflac's ongoing commitment to the recruitment,
retention and advancement of Latinas.
The LATINA Style 50 companies will be honored on February 7, 2008, during
LATINA Style's Awards Ceremony and Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington,
D.C., and recognized at an exclusive Awards Reception at the White House. This
year's Awards Ceremony and Diversity Leaders Conference will be celebrating
its 10-year anniversary of the program.
"We are honored, once again, to be ranked among LATINA Style's 50 best
companies in America," said Brenda Mullins, second vice president and
diversity officer for Aflac Human Resources. "At Aflac, we recognize the
value in having a diverse workforce and work hard to ensure that all our
employees have opportunities for professional growth. We pride ourselves in
creating an environment where everyone feels valued and included."
LATINA Style 50 selects companies that integrate the best employment
policies and resources as they relate to Hispanic women. More than 800
companies were evaluated. The primary areas of evaluation included leadership
programs, profit sharing, educational opportunities, dependent/child-care
support, education reimbursement, Latina representation in senior positions,
flexible work schedules, scholarships for employees' children and dedicated
Hispanic recruitment.
