Chip Stevens is managing director and global head of trading in the Aflac Incorporated Investment division, where he leads Aflac’s global trading activities, including fixed-income instruments, currency investments, and other asset classes.
A member of the Investment division’s Executive Committee, Mr. Stevens works closely with the senior managers who oversee Aflac’s global investment portfolio. He is tasked with expanding Aflac’s global trading platform and infrastructure, coordinating and strengthening Aflac’s counterparty relationships, and establishing centralized trading activity to ensure the best execution across all investment activities.
Mr. Stevens has 20 years of experience in the capital markets, running trading businesses around the globe for large banks and investment managers. Most recently, Mr. Stevens served as managing director, head of fixed income trading for the Americas for BlackRock Investment Management. He was also managing director, head of U.S. fixed income trading for Barclays Global Investors in San Francisco. Mr. Stevens earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business administration from Duke University. He joined Aflac in June 2012.
