Chip Stevens, 44, joined Aflac in June 2012 and is the Global Head of Macro Investment Strategy, Portfolio Solutions and Trading for Aflac Global Investments. A senior member of global investments’ executive, investments, and operating committees, Chip co-chairs the Investment Strategy Group which drives the tactical asset allocation strategy for the company’s global investment portfolio. In addition, Chip has oversight responsibility for all market-related activities, spanning investment, hedging and financing activities across a range of asset classes globally. He is also responsible for designing and building Aflac’s global trading platform as well as coordinating and strengthening Aflac’s senior counterparty and trade relationships. Chip has two decades of experience in both U.S. and global investments. He most recently served as managing director, head of fixed income trading for the Americas for BlackRock Investment Management in both New York and San Francisco. Prior to BlackRock, Chip ran several credit and derivative trading businesses as a Managing Director for Deutsche Bank. Earlier in his career, he ran credit derivatives trading for Merrill Lynch in London and for Citigroup in NY. He began his career at Salomon Brothers. Chip earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business administration from Duke University, and sits on several private company and non-profit boards in the greater NY area.
